Silk & alpaca

Alpacas (lama pacos) are one of the most beautiful South American Camelids. Related to the Llama, Guanacos and Vicuña, Alpacas have been prized for their fibre since Pre-Incan times due to the properties and quality of thier wool (hair)

Alpaca is a silky, soft, durable fibre that has unique thermal properties due to the microscopic air pockets found in the fibre. These pockets allow the user to breath through it on warm days, and likewise trap body heat in cold weather. It is also elastic and non-flammable.

Our products are made of Alpaca and Silk yarn - a beautiful 30/70 blend of alpaca and silk. This allowed our designs to reach the standard of quality you are looking for.

A delightful, shimmery, lightweight yarn that shows the best of both fibers. The soft, pure alpaca yarn, for lightness and warmth, the silk for sparkle.

Hand made

Our products are hand made in Peru. Traditionally the indigenous of Peru has high unemployment rate and low level of education. We create an independent income source for the women who traditionally are the center of the family. They can use their high skills in knitting and handy work.

There is a large number of Quechua speaking population in Peru who has immigrated to the capital.
By creating a production in the poor suburbs of Lima, where such immigrants dominate the population, we can also create an income for these families and at the same time give them an opportunity to maintain the original culture in a hostile environment.
